Frequently asked questions about Matière Brute workshops!
Practical info
No, these are introductory workshops. You don’t need any prior knowledge. The artisan∙e explains the various steps from A to Z and accompanies you throughout the workshop.
Please bring your order confirmation or gift voucher to the workshop.
As far as equipment is concerned, you can come empty-handed. The craftsperson provides all the materials needed for the workshop to run smoothly.
Choose clothes that are not too fragile, as they may get dirty.
It is only possible for the Sewing workshop to bring your own fabric. For the other workshops offered on the site, it is unfortunately not possible to bring your own raw materials for organizational reasons. On the other hand, we can organize a private workshop with different projects. You can contact us at info@matierebrute.ch.
Matière Brute may create vocations (who knows!), but this project is not designed to help people find their bearings professionally. Instead, it’s advisable in this situation to look directly to a∙e artisan∙e for a free discovery course lasting a few days.

Reservations, changes, cancellations
Yes, you can contact us by e-mail at info@matierebrute.ch to request a change of date for the workshop concerned no later than 10 days before the day of the workshop, for organizational reasons. If space is available at a later date, we will reschedule your workshop.
After 10 days, it is no longer possible to change the date, but you can pass on your place to a friend/colleague/family member who will be able to take advantage of the workshop, as these are not nominative.
The minimum and maximum number of participants∙e is indicated on the page of each workshop. It varies from one workshop to the next, as the equipment and location available are different each time.
Our workshops are designed for adults. The minimum age for participation is 16.
If the workshop is not full enough (minimum number of participants), you can choose between :
- take part in the workshop at a later date proposed on the site
- a full refund of the workshop fee
You will be informed∙e by phone or if necessary by e-mail no later than 3 days before the workshop date.
No, we only offer gift cards for a specific workshop with a chosen date on Matière Brute. Above all, we want to offer personalized gifts that show you’ve given special thought to your loved ones and what would make them happy. So go for it!
COVID info
Regarding the holding of workshops, the next workshops will be held as planned. If the situation changes and Matière Brute has to cancel workshops, customers will be notified and given the choice of choosing a later available date or receiving a refund.
