Regina Pereto, textile designer

“Creative work is based more on curiosity than fear. My work is more soul than ego.” This is how the energetic Regina Pereto likes to introduce herself. Regina Pereto is from Brazil. In São Paulo she studied fine arts, in Switzerland textile design. After several positions at textile companies, she started her own business in 2013 with Vista Textiles.

Vista stands for view and vista: Beautiful views are Regina’s inspiration – whether it’s views of nature, looking at the movie screen, or looking at works of art. Regina has a clear idea of how textiles should be designed: Only based on natural fibers such as silk and cotton, and only with suppliers where she knows exactly what is happening. Where it happens. And why it happens. She collaborates with foundations in Switzerland and Brazil that implement her creations. Her collections are characterized by unconventional, colorful patterns: inspired by the colorfulness of Brazil and influences from all over the world.

Content textile printing workshop

You will meet Regina in her studio in the old town of Zurich and get an insight into the history and craft of textile printing and textile design. In this textile printing workshop you will learn the original form of printing on paper and textiles: stamp printing. You’ll carve your own stamps, design gift cards and print a tea towel or shopping bag of your choice.

Right at the beginning, you’ll put on your old shirt and be introduced to the world of textile design and printing by Regina. Quickly get hands-on and make your own stamps – from foam with scissors, or with carving tools on linoleum. Then it’s on to the creative core of the workshop, the stamp printing itself. You test and experiment with different shapes, colors and stamps on different materials. Do you lack inspiration? Don’t worry – Regina will support you with her expertise, lots of ideas and exciting templates.

Do you have your own textiles made of natural fibers that you would like to print? Take it with you. If there is enough time, you can also breathe new life into these during the workshop.

At the end of the workshop you will take home lots of inspiration and your creations: A6 gift card set, your homemade stamps and a tea towel or shopping bag.
